This training is designed for special education teachers preK through grade 5. During this session, we will discuss:
1. Proportionality of disabilities in the general population versus BPS (Specific categories and general sped numbers)
2. Massachusetts disability categories and explore some of the commonly misunderstood categories. (SLD, Developmental Delay, Speech/communication, Neurological)
3. Qualification and Assessment (When to dig deeper/what tools to use?, Who determines if a disability exists?, Consultation with other team members (not pre-meeting))
4. Our Response to Intervention (RtI) model (Who can qualify under this model?)
